Hendrik Vanden Abeele works as a researcher at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent and is a guest lecturer at the conservatoires of Rotterdam and The Hague. In 2000 he became a Master of Music specialising in piano. Besides his activities as a teacher, pianist and lecturer, he is a free-lance singer with various vocal ensembles. In 2004 Hendrik Vanden Abeele began his studies for his Doctorate in Arts at the Academy for Creative and Performing Arts of Leiden University (DocARTES), on the performance practice of Gregorian chant in fitheenth century Ghent.
