Innsbruck (AT)
Karen Lohrmann teaches a workshop on Environments and Organizations in the Master programme at the University of Innsbruck, Institut f. Gestaltung, Faculty of Architecture.
The workshop investigates the notion of landscape in film and its development from the moving images to motion picture to high-tech productions and, most recently, animation. The workshop takes a specific look at the movie 'Red Desert' (1965) by Michelangelo Antonioni and, in this context, to Italian industrialization and the resulting changes in territory, society and culture. Secondly, the workshop investigates film techniques at the time and compares them to contemporary approaches and how this affects our view of and on landscape, in film and in general.
