The Thirty Sixth Series of the Next Kind of Series
WJM Kok’s research project deals with the specific relation between the use of series in his own artistic practice over a longer period of time and Gilles Deleuze's book 'Difference and Repetition'.
WJM Kok (1959, NL) studied at the St. Joost Academy, Breda; Academy of Art and Design, Enschede and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He exhibits regularly in museums, art spaces and galleries and is represented by Galerie van Gelder, Amsterdam. Over the years, he has received several grants of for instance the Fonds BKVB, the Prix the Rome and the Royal Award for Painting. His work is taken up in museum as well as private collections. WJM Kok is lecturer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, researcher in the Department of Art Theory and Artistic Practice of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
